24 Nov 2023: Important Update to PRO package Subscribers Starting Nov 28th

What's changing for PRO package users?

Effective November 28th, 2023, Trickest is transitioning from the current, subscription license model to a new, more flexible package. Here are the key details of this change:

  1. Canceling PRO package and Monthly Subscriptions:

    • We are moving away from the monthly subscription model to better accommodate your varying non-commercial usage needs.

  2. Introduction of Pre-Paid Run Units (RUs):

    • Individual users will now be able to purchase Run Units (RU) for use on Trickest managed infrastructure.

    • 1 universal type of machine will replace the 3 previous types of machines.

    • Run Units will replace Credits.

    • These RUs will have unlimited validity, offering you greater flexibility and control over your usage.

    • For every minute that workflow runs, for each universal machine attached for execution, 2 Run Units are consumed from the user’s available RUs.

    1. Important: With the Community edition, Individuals are allowed to use the Trickest Community edition for non-commercial purposes only; however, individuals can use the Community edition for bug bounty purposes. We are updating our Terms and Conditions and will notify users of the detailed terms. To use Trickest commercially, please contact our sales team.

What This Means for Current PRO Subscriptions

  • Credit Refill: On November 28th, Subscribed PRO accounts will be automatically refilled with the full amount of their current Monthly Subscription credits transformed to Run Units.

  • Bonus Credits: As our appreciation for the continued support, Trickest will also be providing 15,000 additional free Run Units.

Actions Required for the Current Billing Cycle of PRO Subscription Users

The transition to the new pre-paid package has the following implications:

  • All active runs on November 28th at 12 PM UTC will be stopped
  • All scheduled runs on November 28th at 12 PM UTC will be removed

01 Aug 2023: Workflow Engine Upgrade to Double Speed

The update is scheduled for 01 Aug 2023, from 12 PM CET to 12:30 PM CET.

Important notes:

  • Any workflow run in progress during the update window will need to be rerun manually
  • To avoid any inconvenience, we suggest avoiding the initiating or running new workflows during this period and rerunning any necessary ones after
  • Scheduled workflows will not be impacted and will continue as per their current schedules

25 Apr 2023: Trickest New Execution Engine

New execution engine is deployed on 24 Apr 2023. There are few things to keep in mind:

  • Run Delete is temporarily unavailable
  • Due to migration, all your historical runs executed before 24 Apr 2023 at 9 AM UTC will be temporarily unavailable from April 24th until May 8th
  • Trickest outputs used in workflows trickest://output/{uuid} won't work until runs are migrated
  • File input path changes: Previously, all file inputs were directed to the generic path in/http-input-<id>/output.txt, regardless of the actual file name in the URL. But now the input handling system now directs inputs to a more accurate and descriptive path in/http-input-<id>/file-name.txt, where file-name represents the actual name of the file in the URL. For example, if the URL is https://example.com/wordlist.txt, the input will now be directed to in/http-input-1/wordlist.txt]
  • Trickest CLI: Trickest CLI and Trickest Action are updated. You can download the latest release here: https://github.com/trickest/trickest-cli/releases/tag/v1.1.9
  • get-trickest-files, put-trickest-files, diff-trickest-files are not working currently in workflows, and we are working on updating them

New Trickest Workflow Engine will be release on 24 Apr 2023 at 12 PM UTC. The benefits Trickest users will experience immediately are:

  • 🥳 More executions ➝ run more workflows with improved performance at the same or less cost!

Important notes (action required steps)

  • Due to migration, the platform will be temporarily unavailable on April 24th from 9 AM - 12 PM UTC - the new engine will be deployed right after that.
  • Due to migration, all your historical runs executed before 24 Apr 2023 at 9 AM UTC will be temporarily unavailable from April 24th until **May 8th - **MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD ALL FILES YOU MIGHT NEED IN THAT PERIOD
